Tim Floyd Inducted to Louisiana Basketball Hall of Fame

BATON ROUGE, La. – Former New Orleans Privateers men's basketball coach Tim Floyd has been inducted to the Louisiana Basketball Hall of Fame.  He will officially be enshrined by the hall of fame at the induction ceremony on Saturday, May 3.

Floyd led the Privateers to a 127-58 mark over the course of six seasons from 1988 to 1994. New Orleans went to the postseason in five of his six seasons as head coach, which included NCAA Tournament appearances in 1991 and 1993.  Floyd also had four 20-win seasons during his time guiding the Privateers.

The Hattiesburg, Miss. native is the sixth inductee into the Louisiana Basketball Hall of Fame from the University of New Orleans.  He joins Wayne Cooper, Ron Greene, Ervin Johnson, Wilbur Holland and Xavier Webster.

Joining Floyd in this year's induction class is former Louisiana-Lafayette star Roy Ebron (1970-73).  A more extensive release on Floyd's induction and the induction ceremony's itinerary will be provided later this month on behalf of the Louisiana Basketball Hall of Fame.
