THE GAME:

The New Orleans men's basketball team hits the road for three straight starting on Monday, January 12, as the Privateers take on Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas at 7:30 p.m. CT.
 
The Privateers, now 5-6 overall and 1-1 in the Southland Conference, will look to slow down the league's top offense in the Cardinals who sit at 8-4 this season and 0-2 in SLC play.

INCARNATE WORD   
Despite an 0-2 mark in Southland Conference play, the Cardinals have put in plenty of points this season, averaging 84.1 points per game, leading the conference in that category by over four points per game. UIW also holds the league's top individual scorer in Denzel Livingston (22.8 ppg).

LAST TIME OUT:
The New Orleans men's basketball team cut a 16-point Sam Houston State lead down to just four points late in the game but couldn't land the knock-out punch, falling to the Bearkats 68-62 on Saturday night. The loss ends a three-game home stand for the Privateers who took two out of three on their home floor and now hold a 5-6 overall record and a 1-1 mark in the Southland Conference.

The Privateers remain away from home for their next outing, heading to Houston Baptist on Saturday, Jan. 17, for a 7 p.m. CT affair.

On the Road Again

New Orleans is back on the road again for six out of their next eight contest including the next three, starting on Monday as the Privateers take to Incarnate Word.

Hill Finding His Way
Kevin Hill averaged a double-double over the past week, putting in 12 points and grabbing 10.5 rebounds per outing.
 
Clean Game
The Privateers have played a clean brand of basketball thus far, committing just 225 fouls, sitting the team at No. 14 in the nation in that category.
 
Steals
The Privateers have given the ball up a total of just 172 times this season and come away with 87 total steals, putting New Orleans in the top 50 in both statistical categories.

Outshooting the Competition
After shooting 54-percent from the field during the win over the Cardinals, the Privateers remain undefeated on the season at 5-0 when shooting at a higher percentage than their opponent.
 
In the Paint
The Privateers have been tough in the paint during the 2014-15 season, outscoring their opponents by a 372-326 margin thus far.
 
Gill Reclaims the Lead
With back-to-back-to0back double-figure scoring games, sophomore Christavious Gill has reclaimed the team scoring lead, averaging 11.9 points per outing, giving Gill one point for nearly every two minutes played. Gill has put together an impressive offensive run of New Orleans, scoring in double-figures in 11 out of the last 13 games for the Privateers dating back to last season.
 
Slessinger Closing in on Win 50
Fourth year head coach Mark Slessinger is closing in on win number 50 during his coaching tenure, sitting at 41 after picking up his latest against at Lamar.

Frye at the Line
With 31-of-36 makes from the stripe, Nate Frye ranks No. 2 in the Southland Conference and No. 36 in the nation in free-throw percentage with an .861 mark. Frye put in all seven of his attempts during last week's win over Central Baptist.
