GAME PREVIEW
On returning to action following the Christmas break"We had a good break and that was a positive. There were some good days of training where we were able to cover a lot, put some stuff in that we wanted to and begin preparing for the game tomorrow. It'll be our third home game and our final non-conference game, and it would be big to close out our non-conference schedule with a win and begin focusing on Lamar. That's going to be a very tough game. We know that. It's always a great battle, even more so knowing that Coach [Tic] Price is there – a former head coach here. Anthony Anderson is also there and he was a former assistant here. We know it's an important game for them as well as us."
On this being the final dress rehearsal, so to speak, before starting Southland Conference play on Jan. 4 at Lamar"We're looking forward to playing at home most importantly, but we're also excited about having a chance to see the guys perform and get better, and to see if we can make the adjustments and changes."
On the impact the UNO newcomers have made to date"Transfers usually hit their stride around the beginning of January and it was nice to see Erik hit his a little earlier than normal. We've got a lot of freshmen that have logged a lot of minutes. They've had a lot of opportunities to get out there and figure things out. Coleman, Cameron and Danny have all gotten reps and opportunities to compete. It's great for freshmen to be able to do that. I'm excited to see if we can keep the development going and to keep building."
On the challenge presented by Blue Mountain College"It's a team that has a lot of returners, but they've had a lot of injuries early. Some of their guys will be coming back from injuries and they have an opportunity to be pretty good. We want to come out and play at a high level against them. We know that they're going to be alright. They've got a chance to come in and win. We saw that with Williams Baptist. That was such a well-coached team and our guys saw right away that good teams can play at high levels."
