THE GAME:

The New Orleans men's basketball team makes its 2014-15 regular season finale this Saturday, March 7 at Northwestern State in Southland Conference action.
 
The Privateers look to keep momentum rolling in the 3 p.m. CT contest following a big home win over Southeastern on Thursday night.

NORTHWESTERN     
Northwestern State closes out the regular season having won eight out of its last 10 outings while holding a 10-3 overall record at Prather Coliseum. The Demons are led by Zeek Woodley who is putting in 22.6 points per game, making him one of the top scorers in the Southland Conference.

LAST TIME OUT:
The New Orleans men's basketball team tied a school record with 12 three-pointers in the Lakefront Arena on Thursday night, propelling the Privateers past in-state rival Southeastern Louisiana in Southland Conference action. Sophomore Nate Frye was good for a career-best 24 points on six three-pointers during the victory, tying a school-best with six consecutive makes.

New Orleans heads into the Southland Conference tournament next week with the first round of games taking place on Wednesday, March 11 in Katy, Texas.
 
NEWS AND NOTES:
Vs. The Demons

The Privateers are looking to avenge a buzzer-beating loss to the Demons that came earlier this season at the Lakefront Arena, 87-84, back on Feb. 21 in New Orleans.

Three-Point Shooting
In the last three games alone for New Orleans the Privateers have put in 37 three-pointers. That includes a pair of back-to-back nine-three-pointer nights.
 
Shooting Down the Lions
The Privateers had a record-setting night during the win over Southeastern, tying the school mark for made three-pointers at the Lakefront Arena with 12 on 19 attempts.
 
Frye's Career Night
Nate Frye had a career-night during the win over Southeastern, putting in 24 points, a new record for the sophomore, while tying a school-best with six consecutive made three-pointers.
 
Offensive Boards
New Orleans now comes in at No. 40 in the nation in terms of offensive rebounds, bringing in nearly 13 per game, giving the Privateers an average of 12 second-chance points per outing.

Scoring Leader
With 16 double-figure scoring games out of his last 18 outings, sophomore Christavious Gill has remained the team's leading scorer, averaging 12.8 points per outing, giving Gill one point for nearly every two minutes of time on the court. Gill has put together an impressive offensive run of New Orleans, scoring in double-figures in 24 out of the last 28 games for the Privateers dating back to last season.
 
Hill on the Boards
Kevin Hill continues to be dominant on the boards for New Orleans, averaging 6.6 rebounds per game. Hill has led the Privateers in the rebound category since the start of the season.
