LAST 10
The Privateers are 5-5 in their last 10 games, including a 4-0 mark at home.

COLLEGE SPORTS MADNESS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Travin Thibodeaux received College Sports Madness Southland Conference Player of the Week Monday after averaging 20.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals in the two conference wins.

From the charity stripe, the Plaquemine native shot 90.9 percent, connecting 12 Thursday and going a perfect 8-for-8 Saturday.

TIP-OFF
• The Privateers have the hottest player in the Southland Conference in senior forward Travin Thibodeaux, who is averaging 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals while draining 90.9 percent of his free throws.
• The Plaquemine native is averaging 16.2 points (fifth in the conference) on 54.9 percent shooting (third)
• For the Cardinals, former Privateer recruit Colton Weisbrod paces the league with 9.1 points and his 15.3 points per contest are tops on the club.
• New Orleans is 4-0 at Lakefront Arena.
• Despite Thibodeaux being the lone Privateer averaging double figures, the balanced offensive attack pits New Orleans third in the league in field goal percentage at a shade under 48 percent.
• The starting five of Troy Green, Bryson Robinson, Diontae Champion, Thibodeaux and Makur Puou is 3-1 overall.
Ezekiel Charles is shooting 54.1 percent from three-point range. The New York native is averaging 5.6 points and 3.2 rebounds off the bench.
• In five games, Scott Plaisance has reached double figures twice, including 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting in Saturday's win at HBU.
• Up next, the Privateers head to McNeese Saturday afternoon.

Lamar received five first-place votes and picked to finish second overall in the 2017-18 Preseason Southland Conference Poll.

LAST TIME OUT
The 9-0 run heading into the final media timeout was all New Orleans needed to improve to 2-0 in Southland Conference play as the defending conference champions held Houston Baptist University (4-11, 0-2 Southland) scoreless for nearly four minutes en route to a 64-57 win Saturday evening at Sharp Gym.

The story was the defense with 10 blocks but the play of the game came from Texas native Bryson Robinson, who drew a charge with 41.7 ticks remaining that led to the dagger – free throws for senior Travin Thibodeaux – who went 8-of-8 from the charity stripe. The forward finished with a team-high 20 points and the rebound down the stretch was his 10th, giving the Plaquemine native his sixth double-double as a Privateer and first since Feb. 1, 2017 at Abilene Christian University. Thibodeaux also dished out a team-high five dimes and picked up three blocks. Makur Puou was a menace defensively, tying a career-high with five blocks (at Oklahoma State University Nov. 16, 2016) and the senior added nine rebounds. Scott Plaisance reached double figures for the second time this season with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting off the bench.

NEARING HISTORY
Mark Slessinger heads into the week with 82 career victories, two away from tying Don Smith for third on the all-time list.

NEXT UP
The defending Southland Conference champions flip the calendar to 2018 and host Lamar University Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. at Lakefront Arena.
