COACH'S CORNER
"We're excited for our fans to come out to see us play at the best basketball venue in the state," said head coach Mark Slessinger. "

ON THE RETURNING PLAYERS
"The continuity has been incredible, and it has allowed us to continue to grow. We have some guys that can shoot the ball and we will look to push the tempo. We also return some bigs that played well down the stretch in their first season (last year)."

ON THE NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
"We have a challenging schedule that's designed to test us but help us get better along the way."

ON THE OFFSEASON
"Our guys have gotten stronger throughout the summer and that's a testament to the work Travis Reust has done in the weight room."

ON THE SOPHOMORE CLASS
"They remind me of some of the group that led us to a championship two seasons ago. They have a different swagger and continue to get better. We're excited about our sophomore."

ON THE FRESHMEN CLASS
"We have arguably the best young trio in regard to freshman. They can fill multiple roles and I'm excited to see how they respond early on to their first collegiate season. We've seen many forwards come in and make a big difference and we expect the same out of our freshmen."

THE TIP
• The Privateers were 10-3 at Lakefront Arena last season, including a 74-67 victory over the 2018-19 season opening opponent, Spring Hill College (November 24).
• New Orleans went to back-to-back postseasons for the first time since the 1996-97 (NCAA & NIT) following its 2017 Southland Conference title and last season's College Basketball Invitational second round appearance.
• The club returns 10 student-athletes that received playing time last season, including redshirt senior Jorge Rosa. Rosa scored 10 points in the season opener at St. John's before sustaining an injury in a start at Oakland.
Bryson Robinson posted a 31-point game in a overtime win at McNeese last season and earned
Southland Conference Player of the Week honors. He is the leader among returning Privateers in points and assists.
Ezekiel Charles finished fourth in single season program history in three-point shooting (46.8 percent) after leading the Southland in the category. The senior scored a career-high 19 in the CBI finale at Campbell in March.
• New Orleans has four home games in November, returning to Lakefront Arena next Monday to face Pensacola Christian.
• Head coach Mark Slessinger is four games away from surpassing Ron Greene for the most games on the sideline in UNO history (208).
