Lester Bo McCalebb: The village hero

Disclaimer - full release is in Spanish. Link

It was a closed night, the wind hit hard the doors and windows of the house wanting to sneak where he had not been invited. The heavy rain did not stop falling for hours, nothing that had been heard before seemed to do justice to what was happening. In his room, Lester McCalebb tried to sleep while the storm raged on his home.

"My mother said it was not going to arrive, so we stayed in the city. We got up the next morning, we looked out the window and everything was a mess. So we took the car and we went to Houston. Three months later the coaches from the University of New Orleans came to pick me up, I remember finishing the semester in Texas and when the course ended we went back to the city ", remember.

Pain and suffering were the only thing that McCalebb recognized when he opened his eyes again. The devastation that Hurricane Katrina caused on August 29, 2005, devastated life as it was until then. That day, neither the previous warnings nor the protection measures could contain the forces of nature and when the protections of New Orleans fell, civil engineering left the city and its inhabitants defenseless.
