NEW ORLEANS – The men's and women's basketball seasons are here as New Orleans men's basketball hosts Spring Hill on Homecoming while the women visit LSU Tuesday.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
New Orleans welcomes Spring Hill Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Lakefront Arena. A bevy of new entertainment highlights the season opener on the Lakefront with in-arena host
DC Paul and
DJ Ally Bea.
The Privateers are 9-0 all-time versus the Badgers following last season's blowout. In the game,
Amari Haynes scored 17 points in just nine minutes off the bench.
Damion Rosser ended the season with an eight-assist, three-block performance in the opening round of the CIT. Preseason First-Team All-Southland Conference
Bryson Robinson scored 20 points and added four steals in that game. He enters his senior campaign No. 7 on the three-point list with 117 made triples.
Last year's finale featured the first career double-double for
Jahmel Myers as the Florida native posted 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Returning for year No. 2 is 2019 Southland Freshman of the Year
Gerrale Gates, who tied the program record with 32 starts last season.
The Privateers are looking for their fourth consecutive postseason appearance.

Following the meeting with the Badgers, New Orleans will hit the road to take on Butler Saturday at 7 p.m. It will be the second meeting in Indianapolis (2013) between the Privateers and the Bulldogs.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
New Orleans begins 2019-20 with back-to-back SEC showdowns as the veteran group looks to advance to the Southland Conference Tournament for the fourth consecutive season.
The Privateers will take the short trip up to Baton Rouge to battle the LSU Tigers on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 6:30 p.m. and will follow with a contest in Fayetteville against Arkansas on Friday, Nov. 8 at 10:30 a.m.
Both games will have a national audience as they will be streamed live on SEC Network +, available through
ESPN.com/watch.
It will be the first meeting between the Privateers and Tigers since Dec. 31, 2012. LSU received votes in the AP poll, and Arkansas is No. 22 nationally in the AP & Coaches polls.
VOLLEYBALL
The New Orleans Privateers volleyball team (11-15, 4-8 Southland) enters the penultimate week of regular season competition with two highly critical matches on the schedule. The Privateers will travel to Lamar on Tuesday, Nov. 5 and follow up with a trip to Nicholls on Nov. 7. Both matches are scheduled for 7 p.m.
WHERE THEY STAND
The Privateers are in a tie for the eighth and final spot in the Southland tournament with their second opponent of the week in Nicholls. Lamar is a game back in a tie for tenth with McNeese.
NOTES
- The Privateers beat both the Cardinals and Colonels in the first meeting against both sides at the HPC. Those two matches started conference play for New Orleans.

Trinity Jackson has posted 31 digs over her last three matches. The freshman posted a season-best 15 digs three matches ago at A&M-Corpus Christi.
- New Orleans has allowed the fewest assists per set to opponents this season. Opposing teams have averaged 10.47 assists per set vs. the Privateers. New Orleans is also first in fewest opponent kills per set allowed.
