NEW ORLEANS – The men's and women's basketball programs step away from Southland Conference play for one final nonconference regular season contest. The women welcome North Dakota Saturday at 11 a.m. and the men head to top-10 Memphis for a battle at the FedEx Forum on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Privateers (4-6) hit the road to take on No. 6 Memphis December 28 at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN2. New Orleans last visited the FedEx Forum in November, 2017 and outscored the Tigers 36-31 in the second half.
Troy Green posted 19 points and 20 points, respectively, in the first two games of Southland play last week. The junior is averaging a career-high 13.5 points per game. Senior
Bryson Robinson continues to pace the way with 16.1 points and 35.2 percent shooting from three-point range. The Mesquite, Texas native is 30-for-30 from the charity stripe.
Memphis leads the series 9-0 all-time.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
New Orleans concludes it brief home stand with North Dakota at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakefront Arena. The game will feature a Kids' New Years promotion where children will be invited to countdown at halftime and toast with celebratory sparkling cider. The team is 2-2 at the Lakefront so far this year.
