NEW ORLEANS – The Southland Conference schedule begins this week for volleyball as the Privateers host two matches in the Human Performance Center.
VOLLEYBALL
New Orleans will host Lamar on Tuesday and Nicholls on Thursday. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The Privateers went 2-2 last week with wins over Jackson State and College of Charleston.
QUICK NOTES

Ehize Omoghibo was named to the all-tournament team at the College of Charleston Invitational. Omoghibo had 47 kills for the weekend including a career-best 21 in the weekend finale against the host Cougars.

Sh'Diamond Holly recorded 18 total blocks in four matches last week. Her blocks per set average is tied for sixth in the Southland Conference.
- New Orleans is third as a team in hitting percentage in the Southland.

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

MEN'S TENNIS
The men's tennis team was unblemished during what turned into one day of competition at the Scramble on the Bayou. They'll take a weekend trip to Hattiesburg for the Southern Miss Invitational.
QUICK NOTES
- Three of the four newcomers made their Privateer debuts at the University Tennis Center.
Austin Vos (3-0),
Espen Lagarde (2-0), and
Mihajlo Drobnjakovic (2-0) all were undefeated last Friday.
- Returners
Mats Westkamp,
Misha Fomenkov, and
Johannes Klein also made a strong opening statement winning all of their singles and doubles matches against competitors from Jackson State and Nicholls.
- This will be the first time the Privateers head to Southern Miss in the fall since 2016.
CROSS COUNTRY
The full men's and women's cross country programs will be back in action with the running of the Lake Charles Cowboy Stampede at the Enos Derbonne Sports Complex on Saturday. The women's 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will be followed by the men's four-mile race at 9 a.m.
The Privateers are coming off performances at the Nicholls Invitational.
There are just two regular season meets left on the schedule with the Cowboy Stampede and the Florida State Invitational on Friday, Oct. 11 before the Southland Championships on Nov. 1.
