Tim Duncan and Ochsner Health System's Supervisor for Athletic Training Outreach
Jordan Blough announced the promotion of
Nick Holtgrieve to Head Athletic Trainer Wednesday.
Holtgrieve is in his fourth season on the Lakefront and is the athletic trainer for men's basketball and men's tennis.
"I'm excited for this opportunity to lead the sports medicine department at New Orleans and want to thank Tim and the sports administration" said Holtgrieve. "Our staff is eager to provide top quality care for our student-athletes and continue to utilize the partnership between Ochsner and New Orleans for all of the healthcare needs of the Privateer student-athletes. I want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey and I look forward to the great things that come from #NOLAsTeam.
Blough echoed Holtgrieve's statements.
"Nick has grown into a leader within our sports medicine outreach program at Ochsner and I am excited for him to take the next step in his career as the head athletic trainer at New Orleans."
"To provide the very best care for our Privateer student-athletes, we collectively decided it was time for us to streamline communication and accountability by creating the position of Head Athletic Trainer," said Duncan. "Once we arrived at the decision, it was a no-brainer to elevate Nick to the position. His sports medicine acumen, work ethic and leadership ability are attributes that will serve him well in this new role. I am excited for our student-athletes and coaches to experience this evolving level of service and communication."
