NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans head coach
Mark Slessinger mentions giving back to the Greater New Orleans community is a priority for men's basketball. On Monday, Helper Helper released the 2020 NCAA Team Works Helper Helper Community Service Competition rankings and the Privateers ranked No. 7.
The ranking is the highest for any Southland Conference program and is tops in the New Orleans area.
The Privateers volunteered at the following events to name a few;

- Trunk or Treat UNO Hynes Lakeview
- Gentilly Fest 2019
- Hynes Charter Elementary
- T.H. Harris Middle School Visit
- Frederick Douglass Elementary Visit
- Meet and Greet UNO Athletics
- NORD Special Olympics Basketball Clinic
