GREEN MOVES INTO A TIE FOR MOST GAMES PLAYER
Senior leader
Troy Green will move into a tie for first place all-time in career games played on Friday night against the Ragin' Cajuns. It will be the 128
th contest of the St. Rose, La. native's UNO career and ties him with Bo McCalebb on the all-time leaderboard. Green is the only men's basketball student-athlete in program history to play over five seasons.
RIVALRY RENEWED WITH CAJUNS
The Privateers and Cajuns will meet for the 76th time on Friday evening in Lafayette. The series with the former American South and Sun Belt foes is the most played opponent for UNO, with Louisiana holding a 43-32 advantage. The Cajuns are currently on an eight-game winning streak that dates back to 2009 and a win by the home team would be the first time anyone has won nine in a row in the series. New Orleans also won eight in a row between 1987 and 1990.
CANADIAN THANKSGIVING
Junior transfer
Daniel Sackey had plenty to be thankful for over the Thanksgiving holidays. In three games at last week's UNO Classic, the former U17 Canadian National Team member averaged 8.7 points per game and shot 47.6 percent from the field - including 44 percent from beyond the arc. Taking over ball handling responsibilities last week, he averaged 3.7 assists per game as well.
BIG SIM
Since earning back-to-back starts against Central Arkansas and Presbyterian - his first starts in over three years -
Simeon Kirkland has come alive for the Privateers. The former UAB Blazer has averaged 8.5 points per contest on .682 shooting (15-of-22), with three blocked shots and two steals over the last four games.
