MEET INFO | MEN'S COURSE | WOMEN'S COURSE
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans cross country program now knows its course for the Southland Conference Cross Country Championships as it was announced on Monday that the meet will run through Southeastern's campus in Hammond, La.
The women's 6K championship race will get the day started at 10 AM CT while the men's 8K race will follow at 11 AM.
Inclement weather throughout Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas, and its potential impact on team travel, forced the league to postpone the championships from Monday, Feb. 15 to its new date of Sunday, Feb. 21.
The weather caused multiple venues to drop out from hosting the meet, which moved the championships to its current road-course like conditions through the Southeastern campus.
Arina Kleshchukova is looking to defend her 2019 Southland Title and become the first student-athlete in program history to advance to back-to-back NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championships.
Both the men's and the women's teams are also looking to improve on record-setting marks in 2019, in which each program set the school record for lowest finish and lowest point totals recorded at a championship meet since joining the Southland.
