NEW ORLEANS – The brand-new University of New Orleans Spirit Squad will host its inaugural 2021 Pom Camp this summer on the Lakefront for kids aged 6-12! The camp will take place on Saturday, July 24 at the UNO Human Performance Center and will feature a jam-packed day full of events.
The New Orleans Kids Summer Pom Camp will be instructed by new Director of Spirit Squad Jordyn Eaton, who will bring her extensive knowledge and experience straight to the campers for a one-in-a-kind learning event. Her experience includes work as a current professional cheerleader to go with time spent at Grenada School of Performing Arts, Hard Rock Entertainment, Show Risqué, Kelli's Showstoppers, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and the Radio City Rockettes Summer Intensive Program.
"New Orleans Pom and special guests from the New Orleans cheerleading and dance community are excited to come together for our first New Orleans Pom Kids' Camp," an ecstatic Eaton said. "Our team has put in so much work to make this one-day camp fun, inclusive and educational for our campers. Beyond what we're offering for the children, we wanted to provide parents, alumni, and friends of UNO the opportunity to get back to on campus and excited for the upcoming year with athletics!"
The cost is $75 per camper. This includes a special Parent Showcase during camp, an UNO t-shirt and a to-go lunch, amongst a day full of activities. The package will also feature tickets to the New Orleans Men's and Women's Basketball homecoming doubleheader set for Nov. 6 at the Lakefront Arena. At the game, camp attendees will be featured in a special on-court presentation where a group photo will be captured for attendees and their parents.
