"We are happy and blessed to have been selected to play in The Basketball Classic. The staff and I are so grateful to be able to coach this team a little while longer. I've had some of the most fun days of my life coaching this group, and I'm so glad we will be together a little longer." said Slessinger.
"The have worked so hard throughout the year and it has been a joy to be their head coach. The Basketball Classic is going to have an incredible field of with teams from some of the best conferences around the country."
The Basketball Classic will also give the Privateers' fifth-year senior, and leader,
Troy Green another chance to put on the blue and silver one more time.
"Having another opportunity to play basketball is something I don't take for granted. A lot of teams don't make the postseason, and I'm thrilled to be able to wear New Orleans across my chest at least one more time."
The Basketball Classic is presented by ERACISM something that excites Slessinger about the invitation.
"We are also excited that this tournament is sponsored by ERACISM. The initiatives that they have are in alignment with what our Athletic Director,
Tim Duncan, has initiated our P4E program. March Madness is alive on the Lakefront, and we are excited!"
