New Orleans Athletics and INFLCR Maximize Student Athletes’ NIL Opportunities with Launch of Privateer Exhange

FRISCO, Texas - University of New Orleans Athletics has partnered with INFLCR to launch the Privateer Exchange marketplace to provide industry-leading support for student-athletes to maximize opportunities in the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) space Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Tim Duncan and the Southland Conference announced today.

"We are excited to be on the INFLCR team. This historic deal with the Southland Conference is groundbreaking, and what it does is provide ways for our student-athletes to receive compensation for their name, image, and likeness by putting them in direct contact with our business community," said Duncan.
"In turn, business leaders can reach out to our student-athletes directly. They can see how active they are on social media, and how many likes and followers they have. We are very proud of this moment. University of New Orleans Athletics has gotten better today with this deal."

The conference-wide agreement provides tools for all student-athletes to build their brand, manage their NIL, and make local, state, and national connections for NIL deals.

Through Privateer Exchange, powered by INFLCR, student-athletes will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with interested parties - such as brands, collectives, donors, fans, and individuals from anywhere in the country – including student-athletes' hometowns directly

  • Automatically receive access to The Privateer Exchange through their personalized INFLCR app, while businesses and individuals can access the NIL exchange on any device through INFLCR's web platform

  • Earn 100 percent of NIL earnings because there are no transaction fees taken by INFLCR as a result of New Orleans' investment in the platform.

Administrators will also be given visibility into NIL deals and a clear pathway to connect with student-athletes to provide education and guidance.

Registered businesses or individuals can search, filter and initiate direct conversations with student-athletes to discuss NIL opportunities. Student-athletes may also initiate conversations with registered businesses and individuals.

Once the NIL deal between a registered business and student-athlete is completed, the business will use Privateers Exchange to create a transaction that will produce a direct payment to the student-athlete and automate a disclosure to the INFLCR Verified Compliance Ledger.

An additional benefit is that all transactions within the local exchange are consolidated into one 1099 at the end of the year for easier tax reporting purposes for registered businesses and athletes.
