NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans cross country teams will make the 250-mile trek to Walter P. Ledet Track Complex on the campus of Northwestern State for the 2025 Southland Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday morning.
Mason Appleton,
Antonio Delgado,
Petra Imre and
Michela Papalia are the only Privateers with Southland Championship experience who are scheduled to race this weekend. Appleton's best time at a Southland Championship is 25:23.0 in 2022, Delgado's is 27:27.0 in 2022, and Imre and Papalia finished in 22:56.0 and 23:12.3 last season.

Since 2021, including the 2020 championship run held in 2021, the UNO men have finished fourth, fourth, third, fourth and eighth. Kolyn Saltzman owns the best individual finish at the Southland Championships by a Privateer male, with a pair of fourth-place finishes in 2021 and 2022.
The women have finished fourth, second, first, second and fourth since 2021. The 2022 championship was the second in program history and just the third women's conference championship in any sport in school history.
