Dylan Belanger is entering his third season as an assistant coach at the University of New Orleans. He joins the Privateers after a season at Holmes Community College. At UNO, Belanger will oversee camps and assist head coach Blake Dean.
Prior to Holmes, Belanger spent a season as the graduate assistant pitching coach at Hinds Community College. The Eagles clinched an MACJC playoffs spot and all four sophomore arms signed to continue their career at the NCAA Division I level. This staff had four All-MACJC selections and an All-Region 23 performer this past year.
During the 2015 season, Belanger served as the pitching coach at Mississippi Delta Community College. The Trojans made an appearance in the MACJC playoffs Belanger’s first year in Moorhead. Two pitchers continued their playing careers at Delta State University the following season. Prior to joining MDCC, Belanger served as the pitching coach at Neville High School in Monroe, La. for the previous six seasons, where in 2012, the Tigers made it to the semi-finals and in 2014 advanced to the high school state championship. During his time at Neville, over twenty players moved on to play at the next level.
His coaching experience also includes serving as associate head coach for Monroe Baseball for the previous five summers serving as the team’s pitching coach, as well as third base coach. The 2014 Team won the state tournament and also advanced to the Dixie Majors World Series in Ozark, Ala. with a third place finish.
A native of New Orleans, Belanger graduated from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. Belanger is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association.Â
