Biography

2009: Led Privateers with 12 home runs and 53 RBIs in 2009...Hit .390 with 10 home runs in the final 38 games of the year...Went 6-for-12 with three home runs and nine RBIs in three-game series against Troy and was also 6-for-12 with nine RBIs against FAU...Hit seven home runs in conference play and is on pace to break into Sun Belt Conference career top 10 list for home runs...Moved into a tie for seventh on the UNO career list for home runs (28) and is on pace to move as high as second...Drafted in 42nd round by San Francisco Giants.

2008: Was a second-team All-Sun Belt first baseman and was named to the All-SBC Tournament team...Tied for third on team with 12 home runs...Was slumping towards end of regular season before coming on strong in Sun Belt Tournament...Hit .409 with three home runs and seven RBIs to lead UNO to championship game for second straight season...Hit two home runs in 6-5 win at Louisiana-Lafayette to advance Privateers to tournament championship game...Was hitting .412 at the end of March...Was one of two players (Jeff Lanning) to hit two home runs in a game twice during season... Hit two home runs and had five RBIs in April 18 win over Florida International and also scored five runs in victory...Started five of the last six games at third base due to injury to shortstop Tyrone Wethers.

2007: Freshman was big pickup for coaching staff ...Primarily used against right-handers, Schwaner was hitting .483 as late as April 13...Went 5-for-5 despite loss against South Alabama...Finished series 8-for-12 with three RBIs...Also went 5-for-7 with three RBIs in series win over Western Kentucky...Hit Privateers’ lone home run in NCAA Regional (final game of season against Wichita State)...Home run helped UNO tie the all-time mark for round-trippers in a season...Had 11 multi-hit games.

High School: Played baseball and football at Slidell High School and was an All-District and All-Metro pick in both sports...In baseball, was honorable mention All-State and was a Louisiana High School All-Star pick.
