Privateers Fall To Cross-Town Rival Tulane, 3-1

The University of New Orleans women's volleyball team fell to cross town rival Tulane 1-3 (30-25, 27-30, 13-30, 27-30) at Lakefront Arena. The Privateers (5-12 overall) have dropped four-straight matches including the last three at home.

The Privateers had five players in double-figures, and five with double-doubles. Leading the way was junior middle blocker Melissa Caravella with 17 kills, 12 digs and six blocks. Besides Caravella, the Privateers who recorded double-doubles are: Ann MacMillan (13 kills, 13 digs) Mary Wanko (13 kills and 10 digs), Jennifer Cruz (12 kills and 15 digs) and Alison Howard (54 assists and 14 digs).

The Privateers return to Sun Belt Conference action on Friday night October 21st at Western Kentucky and then travel to Middle Tennessee on Saturday, October 20th. UNO will play Southeastern La. on Monday, October 22nd, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. in a game rescheduled after the September 11th attacks on the nation cancelled the UNO Invitational.
