Privateers Fall in Three to Instate Rival Louisiana-Lafayette

The University of New Orleans women's volleyball team fell to instate rival Louisiana-Lafayette, 3-0 (25-30, 28-30, 30-32)in Sun Belt Conference play. The Privateers had a .310 hitting percenage in the third game (18-5-42) and finished the game with fewer errors than the Ragin' Cajuns.The Privateers (6-16/2-9 Sun Belt) have dropped its last three-matches overall.

Junior middle blocker Melissa Caravella led the team with 10 kills, 11 digs and five blocks. Freshman Jennifer Cruz also had 10 kills and a .381 hitting percentage. Senior Ann MacMillan led the team with a .500 hitting percentage (9-0-18) and added 10 digs.

New Orleans returns to action on Tuesday, October 30th, 2001 at Southern Miss and then return home to face Sun Belt west division foe Denver at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2nd.
