The Privateers defeated the Lady Eagles of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg tuesday night three games to two. New Orleans had four players with double-figure kills. Jennifer Cruz led with 16, Melissa Caravella recorded 15, Ann MacMillan claimed 14 and Mary Wanko finished with 10. Caravella and MacMillian both collected double-doubles with 11 and 15 digs respectively.
New Orleans split the first two games with MacMillian having 8 kills and no errors at the end of the first game. The Privateers, previously 1-8 in matches where they split the first two, battled back to take game three. In game five New Orleans held the Lady Eagles to a -.167 hitting percentage while hitting .300 themselves.
The Privateers return home for a pair of conference matches this weekend facing Denver at 7:00 p.m. November 2nd and New Mexico State at 2:00p.m. November 4.
