The University of New Orleans women's volleyball team fell to North Texas in three games (26-30, 25-30, 34-36) at Lakefront Arena. Melissa Caravella led a late rally in the third game that fell short. She led the team with 14 kills, and a team-high five blocks. Mary Wanko finished with 14 kills on 31 attempts (.226), two service aces, and 11 defensive digs.
New Orleans had 26 unforced attack errors and 10 receptions errors which led to 36 points for the Lady Eagles. North Texas was led by Corina Marginas who went 14 of 34 (.235) and had a team leading nine defensive digs.
The Privateers go on the road to Baton Rouge to face in state rival Louisiana State Wednesday, October 10 at 7:00p.m. New Orleans returns to conference action at Lakefront Arena on Saturday, October 13, at 7:00 p.m. against Florida International.
