Privateers Fall to LSU, 0-3

MacMillan Named All-Tournament Team

New Orleans, La. - The University of New Orleans volleyball team finished its first weekend of regular season action with a 1-2 record after dropping its last game of the weekend, 0-3 (24-30, 28-30, 12-30) to instate rival LSU. Senior Ann MacMillan was rewarded for her efforts (46 overall kills, 36 digs, .317 hitting percentage) over the weekend by being named all-tournament. 

LSU limited the Privateers offense, holding UNO to a .042 hitting percentage over the three games. The Privateers had the Tigers down 28-23 in the second game, but were outscored 7-0 to finish the match. 

Junior hitter Mary Wanko had a team-best 11 kills and MacMillan had 13 digs and eight kills. 

The Privateers open the home schedule on Friday, September 7th, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. against Florida A & M in the night cap of the UNO Tournament at Lakefront Arena's Auxiliary Gym. Tickets are still available at the UNO Box Office (280-4263) or at the door.
