The University of New Orleans women's volleyball team lost to South Florida, 3-1 (30-16, 29-31, 30-21, 30-25), this afternoon at the UNO/Kiefer Lakefront Auxiliary gym. The Privateers have played three matches over the last five days and are 0-3. UNO dropped earlier matches this week to conference foes South Alabama at home and at Arkansas-Little Rock.
Freshman Jennifer Cruz (Houston, Texas) led the Privateers (3-6) with a career-high 17 kills and three aces. Senior Ann MacMillan (Daleville, Ind.) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 10 kills and tied junior Mary Wanko Kenner, La.) for match-high honors with 10 digs. Junior Melissa Caravella (Violet, La.) and sophomore Kneckie Stallsworth (Mobile, Ala.) each added 11 kills. The Bulls were led by Michelle Collier's 21 kills and 16 digs.
New Orleans will play Southern (Baton Rouge) in the state's capitol, Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. Their next home match will be Friday, October 5th vs. Louisiana-Lafayette at 7:00 p.m.
