BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of New Orleans women's basketball team will play its seventh straight road game on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Birmingham Southern.

Fresh off of an 11-day break for final examinations, head coach Keeshawn Carter's UNO (0-8) squad returns to the floor and just 80 minutes of basketball action away from ending a month-long stretch of eight games away from home.

Despite the 66-63 setback against Dillard on Dec. 1 at Dent Hall, there were several positives to carry forward, particularly on the offensive end.

Putting together one of the best team efforts of the season offensively, the Lady Privateer produced their second-highest mark in points (63) and field goal percentage (44.1 percent).

The list of second-highest continued individually as Mirjam Sipos and Keri Thomas posted their second-best outing of the year with 19 and 15 points, respectively. Tiffany Wallace added a career-high nine points with Sipos distributing a season-best seven assists.

On the season, Sipos is the team's leading scorer at 13 points per game with Yosha Watson in second at 8.9. Thomas has emerged as a third scorer for UNO with 10 points per contest over the last four games to elevate her season scoring average to 7.3.

The Lady Privateers will look to build on the effort against a BSC (3-3) program that last took to the floor on Dec. 3 with a 64-46 win over Oglethorpe. The win snapped a three-game losing streak to a group that included LeTourneau, Berry and Emory.

Alex Adams leads the Panthers with 12.5 points and 7.3 rebounds, despite coming off the bench in each of six contests this year. Caroline King is second on the team with 10.3 points.

BSC enters the contest with a 7.8 rebounding edge over opponents and has attempted twice as many free throws as their foes this year.

Following Sunday's game, the Lady Privateers will head to Pensacola, Fla. for a Wednesday encounter against future Gulf South Conference foe West Florida at 5 p.m. UNO's first home game in a month will occur on Dec. 18 at 12 p.m. against North Alabama, the first half of a doubleheader with the Privateer men.
