NEW ORLEANS - The University of New Orleans men's tennis program will resume its spring schedule after nearly three weeks off the court as they host Radford at 12 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon at the University Tennis Center.
UNO (3-1) last played on Feb. 19, defeating Jackson State 5-2 and William Carey 4-3.
The Privateers have posted a 24-21 mark in singles' play led by
Vinay Kamineni and
Hossam Meligy, who have matching 3-1 records in singles' play. Kamineni has played all four matches at the No. 2 position with Meligy splitting time in the middle of the lineup.
In doubles' play, UNO is 9-13 with the tandem of Kamineni and
Abdelrahman Zaki going 2-1 at the No. 2 slot to lead the Privateers.
Benjamin Bouhana and Meligy are 2-2 at the top of the lineup.
Radford (5-3) is in the midst of a trip through the Crescent City.
The Highlanders were scheduled to face South Alabama on Tuesday before challenging UNO and Xavier (La.) on Wednesday. Radford was also slated to play Memphis and Tulane while in town through Mar. 12.
This season, the Highlanders own wins over Division I foes from Bethune Cookman, Coastal Carolina, South Carolina State and Elon. Losses have come to Cornell, Maryland and Winthrop. Ivan Salec is the top player with a 5-0 mark at No. 1 singles with Nichols Sayer posting a 5-0 record while splitting time at the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 spots in the lineup.
The Privateers are in the middle of a six-match stint at home and will continue play on Mar. 12 against Mobile at 10 a.m.
