FLORENCE, Ala. - The string of five consecutive road matches concludes this weekend for the University of New Orleans volleyball team as they head to North Alabama on Friday at 7 p.m. and Christian Brothers on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Friday's match will feature live stats on RoarLions.com with Saturday's match featuring live video and stats on GoBucsGo.com.

UNO (2-6) started their season-long stretch of road contests with a victory at Southern-New Orleans.
Since the win, the Privateers have dropped two straight and enter the weekend with a 1-3 mark away from home.

UNO struggled offensively against West Florida on Tuesday, hitting -.022 for the match.  The sluggish performance ended the squad's stretch of three consecutive matches with hitting percentages over .200.

Head coach Kim Young-Buford will look for her team to get back in the swing of things this weekend against the top two defensive teams in the Gulf South Conference. Top hitters for the Privateers entering this week are Laila Hansen (3.58 kills per set) and Jasmyne Walker (2.5 k/s).

The libero position plays a large part in the success of both opposing defenses.

UNA (10-2) paces the GSC by holding opponents to a .157 hitting percentage behind libero Lauren Greenhill's league-topping 5.11 digs per set. CBU (9-2) is right behind the Lions with a .158 hitting percentage and Corrine Doder's 5.07 digs a frame.

Offensively, UNA  is led by Natalie Marsh, who tops the charts for the Lions and the GSC with 4.15 kills per set while ranking fifth league-wide with a .292 hitting percentage.

CBU's offense is directed by three players who rank in the top eight of the GSC in hitting percentage, though none of them averages more than 2.5 kills a set. The top attacker for the Bucs is Hannah Kurtz, who averages 3.33 kills a stanza.

Following this weekend, UNO will return to the comforts of home to play Alabama-Huntsville on Sept. 30 and West Alabama on Oct. 1. Both matches will take place at Lakefront Arena.
