NEW ORLEANS - The 2012 portion of the schedule will begin across town for the University of New Orleans women's basketball team as they visit Loyola (N.O.) at The Den on Monday at 2 p.m.

The game will be broadcast with live stats also available on the Loyola athletic web site.

A road contest for UNO (0-13) on Monday represents just the third game within the Crescent City limits in the last 10 contests.

The Lady Privateers have played its best defensive games of the season when playing in New Orleans and will look to continue that trend on Monday.

Through 13 games on the season, four of the five lowest scores produced by UNO opponents have come in town, including a low of 49 by North Alabama on Dec. 18.

On the offensive end of the floor, head coach Keeshawn Carter has seen Keri Thomas put together consecutive outings of at least 10 points.

The junior transfer poured in a career-high 20 points in Friday's setback against Auburn-Montgomery, posting just the fourth outing of the season of at least 20 points by a member of the UNO roster.

Mirjam Sipos remains the team's leading scorer at 13 points per game and finished off the month of December with four games in double-figures. Over the same stretch, the junior from Hungary is averaging five rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.3 assists.

The schedule will not get any easier against a Loyola team that brings a 10-1 record into the contest with wins in their last three contests. Head coach Kellie Kennedy's squad owns a win over NCAA Division I foe Northwestern State in addition to a win over Xavier (La.) and a pair against Dillard.

Keiva Council leads the Wolfpack in all important offensive categories including points (23.1), rebounds (eight) and assists (3.5). Defensively, Council also leads the team in steals 2.5.

Loyola leads the all-time series between the teams 2-0 after taking both ends of an in-season home-and-home last year.  The Wolfpack won the game at Lakefront Arena 76-58 on Dec. 11, 2010 before winning the return date at The Den 69-56 on Jan. 8, 2011.

Following Monday's contest, UNO will head to Division I foe Southeastern Louisiana for a Jan. 4 game scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.  The Lions are the third Division I opponent this year for the Lady Privateers, who lost to SLU twice in 2010-11.
