NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans women's basketball team will face perennial NCAA Division II power Delta State at Lakefront Arena on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

A live video broadcast of the game will be available on UNOPrivateers.com alongside live stats.

Currently in the midst of a season-long six-game homestand, UNO (0-19) is coming off one of its best all-around offensive performances of the season.

A total of five players reached double-figures for head coach Keeshawn Carter's squad in last Thursday's loss to Southern-New Orleans led by the pair of Tiffany Wallace and Mechel'le Thomas with 15 points apiece.

Wallace added 11 rebounds to become the third player to post a double-double for the Lady Privateers this season. The double-double was the fourth of the year for UNO, one shy of the five accomplished last season by Mirjam Sipos.

Sipos scored 13 against SUNO last week and remains the team's leading scorer at 12.3 points per game. The native of Hungary added five assists as the Lady Privateers posted 13 for the contest, equaling their second most on the campaign.

The offense has improved their production over the last five contests and will attempt to do it again as a stingy DSU (11-4) defense pays a visit to the Lakefront.

Winners of five national championships, the Lady Statesmen have made their mark defensively holding opponents to 34.6 percent shooting from the field and 51.9 points per contest.

DSU is led by two-time reigning Gulf South Conference (GSC) Player of the Year Veronica Walker, who is averaging 19.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest.  A consensus NCAA Division II Preseason Player of the Year, Walker ranks in the top six all-time in GSC history and scoring with entered the year in the top five in the storied history of the DSU program.

The Lady Privateers' contest against the Lady Statesmen is one of two on the week.

UNO will play Auburn-Montgomery at Lakefront Arena on Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. before taking nearly two weeks off before resuming play on Feb. 8 against Loyola.

Tickets for UNO home games can be purchased at the Lakefront Arena Box Office, TicketMaster.com or by calling (504) 280-GAME.
