LUBBOCK, Texas – A trio of New Orleans newcomers scored in double-figures for the first time on Friday night in a 75-45 loss to Nicholls State at United Spirit Arena on the opening day of the Basketball Travelers Invitational.
UNO dropped to 1-3 with the squad's second setback against NSU (5-1) in 11 days.
A pair of early runs provided the spark for the Colonels in the contest. NSU scored the first nine points of the game before Lady Privateer freshman
Mathilde Fogelstrom connected on a jumper at the 16:38 mark for UNO's first points.
The Colonels promptly responded with 10 straight points and led 19-2. Following the two early runs, the NSU advantage never dipped below double figures with the Colonels carrying a 39-20 lead into the half.
The deficit for the Lady Privateers reached a high of 38 points with 4:29 remaining.
Fogelstrom's 13 rebounds in the contest represented the Copenhagen, Denmark native's second straight game with double-figure rebounds for UNO. Fogelstrom scored a career-high 10 points for her first double-double.

Hayley Alexander and junior
Amber Clay also contributed career-high point totals to lead the Lady Privateers. Alexander scored a team-high 16 points in just 14 minutes off the bench with Clay putting forth 11 points.
Across the floor, Alisha Allen paced NSU with 17 points, including 13 in the first half. The Colonels shot 46.2 percent as a team compared to 26.5 percent from the field for the Lady Privateers
UNO will face Southern Utah when play at the BTI resumes on Saturday at 2 p.m. SUU dropped to 1-2 on the season in a 73-54 loss to host Texas Tech in Friday's opening game.
