Privateers Fall in Road Finale at Louisiana-Lafayette

UNO Returns Home Thursday for Final Home Match of Campaign

LAFAYETTE, La. – Playing on the road for the final time this season, the New Orleans Privateer volleyball squad dropped a 3-0 (25-9, 25-17, 25-19) result to I-10 rival Louisiana-Lafayette on Wednesday night at Earl K. Long Gym.

The loss was the fourth in a row for a UNO (7-15) team led by Marti Richmiller's six kills. Laila Hansen and Taylor Berry added four kills apiece for the Privateers, who hit .021 as a team.

Ariane Labrzycki set up 14 assists and tied for match-high honors with three service aces. Lauren Levy handled the back row to the tune of 10 digs for UNO.

ULL (16-15) received a match-high 11 kills from Lavinia Tataran. The Ragin' Cajuns totaled 43 kills as a team with 37 coming off of the hands of setter Mandi Gavin.

Taking advantage of a .282 hitting percentage for the match, ULL trailed just once in the match – a deficit in the second stanza. The Ragin' Cajuns topped a .300 clip as a team in both the first and third sets, frames in which they led throughout.

The Privateers will return home to close out their 2012 schedule on Thursday at 6 p.m. inside the Human Performance Center against Centenary. The match will be streamed on UNOPrivateers.com.
