CLEVELAND, Miss. – The University of New Orleans women's basketball team heads out of town for the final time this season to face perennial NCAA Division II power Delta State on Thursday at 6 p.m.

UNO (0-24) will be playing DSU (18-5) for the second time.

On Jan. 24, the Lady Privateer dropped a 77-49 contest to the Lady Statesmen at Lakefront. Keri Thomas scored 18 points to lead a UNO team that has dropped four in a row since the contest.

The performance against DSU was near the front of a current string of success for the former Alexandria Peabody standout.

Thomas has reached double-figures in seven straight contests and just last week averaged 24.5 points per contest on way to earning Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week honors. On the campaign, Thomas is averaging 11.8 points per game – which stands second behind Mirjam Sipos' 12.8 points an outing.

Tiffany Wallace is the Lady Privateers' top rebounder with 5.4 grabs off the glass a contest including 13 against Nebraska-Omaha this past Saturday. Wallace has been on a tear as of late with double-figure rebound totals in four of her last eight contests.

Defeating DSU on their home court is a difficult challenge.

The Lady Statesmen have gone 8-1 at Sillers Coliseum this season and have won a total of 47 straight games at home within Gulf South Conference play.

Preseason Player of the Year Candidate Veronica Walker is averaging team-bests in points (18.1), rebounds (8.6) and field goal percentage (54.6). Walker was held to 12 points on 4 of 10 shooting in the previous meeting against UNO, her fourth lowest shooting effort of the slate.

The Lady Privateers' 2011-12 campaign comes to a conclusion on Monday at 6 p.m. against Southern-New Orleans. The game will take place at The Castle.
