Three-game Home Stand Set for Privateers

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers volleyball team starts a three-game home stand on Tuesday at 7 p.m. by hosting Alcorn State in the HPC.

The Privateers will resume Southland action by hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday and Houston Baptist on Saturday, with first serve set for 7 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.

The Privateers (2-16, 0-6 SLC) and Lady Braves (0-16, 0-3 SWAC) are each looking to end skids, while New Orleans is playing at the HPC for the first time since dropping a 3-0 decision to Central Arkansas on September 28.  The Lady Braves are winless on the season and most recently dropped a 3-0 decision against Prairie View A&M.

New Orleans is coming off of a 3-1 loss at McNeese State that saw Celeste Ramirez post a career-high 41 assist and Alyssa Podwell record a personal best 10 kills.  Lauren Levy also was true to form with 21 digs.

After Tuesday's match, the Privateers host the Islanders (10-7, 5-1 SLC) on Thursday and the Huskies (20-11, 7-1 SLC) on Saturday.  The Islanders have won three straight and are fresh off of a 3-1 victory over McNeese State.  Texas A&M-CC is led by Ivy Baresh with 209 kills, Hailey King with 248 digs and Logen Bourque with 669 assists.

The Huskies have won two of their last three, but are coming off of a 3-1 loss to Incarnate Word.  HBU is led by Heather Leaverton with 349 kills and 397 digs, while Victoria Weatherly leads the squad with 1,210 assists.
