NEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team will open the home slate of the 2013-14 season on Thursday, November 14 when the team hosts Grambling State. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in the Lakefront Arena.
The Privateers (0-1) started off the season with an 81-46 loss to Tulane, while the Grambling State (0-2) is coming off of an 87-65 loss to Louisiana Tech. In last year's contest between New Orleans and Grambling State, it was Tigers coming away with the 76-44 win at the Assembly Center.
On the season, New Orleans is led by
Mathilde Fogelstrom, averaging 8.0 points and 7.0 rebounds. Also leading the charge for the Privateers is newcomer
Danielle Davis, as she burst on the scene against Tulane with 14 points that included two three-point baskets.
The Tigers are led by Victoya Ricks and Dennisha Chambers with a 13.0 and 12.0 points per game, respectively. The Tigers have only eight players on their roster that have logged game minutes coming into Thursday's game.
