STARKVILLE, Miss. – The New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team suffered a 111-38 setback at SEC-power Mississippi State on Sunday at Humphrey Coliseum.
The Privateers (0-3) struggled to find a groove, shooting 37.2 percent (16-of-43) from the floor for the game, while Mississippi State (3-0) shot 54.1 percent (40-of-74) from field goal range en route to staying perfect on the season.
Leading the charge for the Privateers was
Ariele Davis with 10 points, as she was the only Privateer in double figures.
Mathilde Fogelstrom led New Orleans in rebounding with 4 to go along with 2 assists, 2 steals and a block in the loss.
Mississippi State had seven players cross the 10-point plateau with Kendra Grant leading the way with 23 points. As a team, the Lady Bulldogs combined for 30 steals that led to 62 points.
New Orleans will remain idle this week and will host Jacksonville State on Saturday, November 23 at 1 p.m. The men's game versus Boise State will precede the contest with tip-off at 11 a.m.
