Privateers Begin Busy Stretch at Oral Roberts

TULSA, Okla. – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team (3-2) enters the middle match of a three-game road swing against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (1-7) on Friday at Philcrest Hill Tennis Club. The match is set for 2 p.m.

New Orleans is coming off its toughest match in a 7-0 loss at LSU on Friday, Feb. 28. Timo Kranz returned from a back injury after missing the last three duals. Kranz was slotted in the 2 position upon his return to the lineup.

The Privateers have beaten Oral Roberts in two career duals between the two teams. New Orleans opened their dual meet in the 2012-13 season with a 7-0 victory over the Golden Eagles. The first time the teams met was also a 7-0 Privateers win in the 2002-03 season.

Oral Roberts will play just their second match at home on Friday. The lone other match at Philcrest Hill was a 4-3 loss against South Dakota State on Jan. 18. The Golden Eagles took their only dual off of Prairie View A & M, a 5-2 decision on Feb. 2. Parker Allen, Michael Sosnowski, and Fabian Zierleyn have led the squad in singles play. All three players have taken three singles matches on the season. Zierleyn has played the last three matches at the 1 position after starting 2014 at the 2 position.

The Privateers men will partake in four matches over the next six days. After a non-conference match against 15th ranked Oklahoma State on Saturday, New Orleans will take on SIU-Edwardsville at home on Sunday and Abilene Christian at home next Wednesday.
