THE GAME:The New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team (2-15, 0-8) heads to Lake Charles to take on the McNeese State Cowgirls (11-8, 5-3) on Saturday afternoon at Burton Coliseum. Tip is scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Privateers were held in check in a low-scoring affair, losing 56-40 to Nicholls. The Privateers have lost three straight in the all-time series against McNeese State, including two losses last season.

McNeese State used a big second half to pull away from Southeastern in a 78-57 win on Thursday night. The Cowgirls were up by only four at halftime. Allison Baggett had 21 points and four assists. Coach Brooks Donald-Williams has taken McNeese State to a postseason tournament in each of the last four seasons.

LAST TIME OUT:The Privateers were held under 50 points for the fourth straight game in a 56-40 loss to Nicholls on Thursday. New Orleans shot 26 percent (13-of-50) and the Colonels hit 5-of-11 threes in the second half.
Yasmin Taylor led the team with eight points and added four rebounds and four steals.

Kayla Mundy had six points each.

NEWS AND NOTES:STEALS GALORE:
Yasmin Taylor recorded her second consecutive game of four steals on Thursday against Nicholls, bringing her season total to 44. Taylor has six games of four or more steals this season and currently ranks tied for second in steals per game (2.6).

DEFENSE:
The Privateers held a third straight opponent under 60 points after holding Nicholls to 56 on 37 percent shooting. It's the first time New Orleans has held three straight foes under 60 since the 2009-10 season when they did it in three wins over Georgia Southern, Southeastern, and Longwood.

GLASS CLEANERS:
The Privateers hauled in 17 offensive rebounds on Thursday and are averaging 13.2 offensive rebounds per game this season. In conference only games, the Privateers have hauled in an average of 14.1 offensive boards per game.
