OPENING TIPThe New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team opens their season against the TCU Horned Frogs out of the Big 12. The 2015-16 debut for the Privateers takes place on Sunday at the University Recreation Center in Fort Worth and is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip.

The Privateers are out to continue to build on the late season momentum from 2014-15 where they won five of the last six games. That stretch culminated with a victory in the regular season finale over eventual tournament champion, Northwestern State. Heading into this season, the Privateers were picked 11
th in the Southland in both the SID and coaches' poll.

The bulk of scoring and rebounding returns for the Privateers who have three seniors on the roster: (
Danielle Davis,
Yasmin Taylor, and
Mathilde Fogelstrom). Six of the top seven scorers from last year are back and the team also returns 88 percent of their rebounding. Head Coach
Keeshawn Davenport is starting her fifth season at the helm.

This will be the first meeting between the Privateers and Horned Frogs in program history. Four of the five games in November will be played away from Lakefront Arena. The only home contest for the month is Nov. 19 against LSU-Alexandria.

FAST BREAK-
Yasmin Taylor returns after finishing in the top five in the Southland in offensive rebounds per game.

Halie Matthews averaged 8.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in her freshman season.

Randi Brown was the first conference Freshman of the Year in program history in 2014-15.
-This season will debut the new time format for women's basketball, which has converted from two 20-minutes halves to four 10-minute quarters.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTTCU has a game under their belt after soundly defeating Sam Houston State 85-59. The Horned Frogs scored the first 11 points of the game. The Horned Frogs were also plus-10 in the turnover battle. Junior, Jada Butts poured in a game high 18 points in the win and four TCU players landed in double figures in the season opener.

Last season was Raegan Pebley's first in Fort Worth. Pebley led the Horned Frogs to an 18-14 record and a berth in the second round of the Women's NIT. For her career, Pebley has 175 wins entering Sunday's contest. Pebley was also previously a head coach at Utah State (2003-12) and Fresno State (2012-14).

Veja Hamilton was a Second Team All-Big 12 selection a season ago. Last season also put Hamilton in the TCU record books: Hamilton made 161 field goals last season, which is the 10
th highest season total in program history. Hamilton finished with 12 points in the Horned Frogs' win over Sam Houston State on Friday.
