BOX SCORE TO COME...
LAFAYETTE, La. – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team (4-4, 0-1) got another singles win from
Blake Gregor, but it wasn't enough in a 5-2 loss to the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns (5-5, 2-0) on Friday at the Cajun Courts.
Gregor was taken the distance by Vlad Kramarov at the 4 position. Gregor won the first set in a tiebreak at 7-6, but dropped the second set 6-1. Gregor would bounce back to take command, winning the final set 10-4 to earn his sixth singles victory in spring.
Romain Lefevre also polished off a straight sets victory for the Privateers' only other point. Lefevre took down Jarred Wynan 6-4, 6-3 to move to 3-0 on the spring since being inserted into the lineup. Each of Lefevre's wins has come in straight sets.
The Privateers were swept in doubles on all three courts, losing 6-2 at #1 doubles, 6-2 at the 2 slot, and 6-4 at the 3 position.
Gonzalo Garcia also took his opponent, Damian Farinola to three sets but dropped the final set 10-5.
Next up for the Privateers is an in-state battle against Xavier on Wednesday at the University Tennis Center. The match is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.
