BOX SCORENEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team (2-2) coasted to a 7-0 victory on a cloudy, drizzly afternoon against the Loyola Wolfpack (0-3) on Tuesday afternoon at the University Tennis Center.
Coach
Burzis Kanga changed the lineup a bit to experiment with different pairings. In doubles,
Timo Kranz was paired with
Christoffer Appelgren at the 1 position.
Daniel Populus was also inserted into the lineup at #3 doubles with
Luis Albuquerque. Both pairs took care of business in short oder with Kranz and Appelgren winning 6-2. Populus and Albuqerque did not drop a game in their 6-0 win.
In singles, the lineup remained unchanged and all six players won in straight sets.
Rui Silva and
Blake Gregor won their respective matches without dropping a game. Gregor has now moved to 3-1 in singles so far this spring.
The Privateers' next match will take place in Starkville against an SEC opponent in Mississippi State on Saturday, Feb. 7. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
