NEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team (6-4, 2-0) continues a non-conference swing against the Bryant Bulldogs (0-8, 0-0) on Friday at the University Tennis Center. The match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
The Privateers are coming in, winners of back-to-back matches against Nicholls and Southern Illinois. The last match against the Salukis on Sunday came down to the wire with
Romain Lefevre winning the third set of his match and helping New Orleans clinch a 4-3 decision.
New Orleans has won four of their last five matches entering the weekend. The Privateers are looking to notch three straight wins for the first time since Mar. 2012 when they ripped off a six-match winning streak in a 10-day span.
Sunday's win over Southern Illinois marked the fourth time this season the Privateers swept the 4 through 6 positions in singles. Lefevre,
Blake Gregor, and
Giacomo Adoncecchi provided the victories in the back half of the rotation. It was also the second time the Privateers have won a match this season despite dropping the doubles point.
The Bulldogs are currently on a trip down south as they search for their first win of the spring. Bryant dropped a 6-1 decision to Lamar on Tuesday and had a scheduled match against Louisiana-Lafayette canceled due to weather.
