Men's Tennis Drops Decision Versus Bryant

BOX SCORE

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team (6-5, 2-0) could not shake off a sluggish start in a 5-2 loss to the Bryant Bulldogs (1-8, 0-0) on Friday afternoon at the University Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs opened up strong, taking the doubles match at the 3 position by an 8-2 count. The next match to finish was at the 1 spot. After Bryant's top tandem in Matt Kuhar and Zach Morris built a 5-1 lead, they were able to hold serve for an 8-5 decision to take the doubles point.

In singles, the Privateers picked up singles wins from Blake Gregor and Romain Lefevre, but fell short in the other four matches. Gregor and Lefevre both went to the third set of their respective matches before earning individual victories. Three of the Bulldogs' four victories in singles came in straight sets. Rui Silva also pushed to a third set, but fell short at the 2 spot.

The Privateers will face LSU on Sunday in Baton Rouge. The match is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.
