BOX SCOREBATON ROUGE, La. – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team (6-6, 2-0) was overpowered by their toughest competition this season, falling 7-0 to the LSU Tigers (13-3, 3-2) on Sunday evening at Dub Robinson Stadium.

The Privateers had different pairings on the day with
Blake Gregor and
Rui Silva playing in the top spot.
Romain Lefevre and
Giacomo Adoncecchi were moved up to #2 doubles and
Gonzalo Garcia and
Luis Albuquerque played at the 3 spot. The Tigers took the doubles point by winning the 2 and 3 matches at 6-1 and 6-2 respectively.

In singles, LSU went straight sets in each of their matches. Silva was facing a nationally ranked opponent in Chris Simpson and fell 6-0, 6-2. Gregor was moved up a spot and had his winning streak stopped at seven straight matches in a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Simon Freund. At the 6 position,
Daniel Populus took Eric Perez to a tiebreak in the first set, but fell short before ultimately dropping the second set 6-0.

The Privateers' next scheduled match is a conference meeting with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday, Mar. 24 at the University Tennis Center. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
