BOX SCORENEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team (6-7, 2-1) was defeated in a tough match by a 6-1 margin against the 55
th-ranked Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders (11-3, 1-0) on Tuesday at the University Tennis Center.

The Privateers' #1 duo of
Timo Kranz and
Romain Lefevre took the first game over Peter Nagy and Arthur Bedel, but the Islanders' top pair quickly wrestled the lead back and held for an 8-4 victory. The Islanders also won on the second court to take the doubles point.

In singles, the Privateers earned their only point from Lefevre who won a three-set match over Javier Pujol. After taking the first set in a tiebreak, Lefevre lost the second set 6-4. That set the stage for a third set that Lefevre took by a 10-7 count to earn his seventh victory of the spring.

The rest of the matches went the Islanders' way with four of the remaining five going in straight sets.
Blake Gregor came back from dropping a close first set to take the second. However, the third set went to his opponent, Guillaume Rauseo by a 10-7 margin. The Islanders remain undefeated for the month of March while the Privateers dropped their third straight.

New Orleans is back in action this weekend when they head to Troy to take on the Trojans on Friday followed by a neutral site match against Appalachian State on Saturday.
