NEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team (9-9) won a hard fought doubles point and pushed to a 4-0 victory over the Alcorn State Braves (6-4) on Friday afternoon at the University Tennis Center.

In the team's last home match, the doubles point was difficult to come by.
Timo Kranz and
Romain Lefevre were pushed to a tiebreak, but were able to hold on for an 8-7 victory at the top position in doubles.
Rui Silva and
Blake Gregor had a tough time as well, but eventually saw out an 8-6 win to give the Privateers the doubles decision.

Singles play yielded easier results for the Privateers. Lefevre dominated again, winning 6-1, 6-1 over Garry Amor. Gregor was up a set and 3-1 in the second before his opponent retired from the match. Kranz also won 6-3, 6-3 at the top position to help the Privateers to the 4-0 decision.

Conference play picks back up next Friday when the Privateers travel to Incarnate Word. The match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
