Men's Tennis Tangles With Alcorn State on Saturday

NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans men's tennis team (2-0) continues their home heavy opening stretch when they face off against the Alcorn State Braves (0-3) on Saturday at the University Tennis Center. The match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.

The Privateers' 2016 schedule is front loaded with home matches. New Orleans' spring slate included the first five matches and 10 of the first 12 being played at the University Tennis Center. So far, the Privateers have defeated Loyola and Jackson State.

"The first one or two will be strong for Alcorn," said Coach Burzis Kanga. "Giacomo (Adoncecchi) has been a little under the weather, but he should be ready to go. We have to be ready to play."

Nicolas Kramer has won both singles matches and both of his doubles matches along with senior teammate, Gonzalo Garcia. In singles, Kramer was the first to finish against Jackson State after his opponent retired prior to the start of the second set. Kramer has recorded both of his singles wins at the #3 position.

Alcorn State heads in after losses at Southern Miss, Jacksonville State, and Mississippi State. The only point the Braves earned was against Jacksonville State when Nischay Rawall recorded a victory at #2 singles.
