Men's Tennis Closes Conference Slate With Abilene Christian

NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans men's tennis team (7-7, 2-2 Southland) will close out their conference slate on Saturday when they take on the Abilene Christian Wildcats (18-8, 2-2) in a make-up match at Rice University.

The match was originally scheduled for March 18 and did get underway. However, inclement weather rolled in and stopped the match shortly after the doubles point. The match has now been moved to a neutral site in Houston and will be played at 1 p.m.

The Privateers will close out the conference slate then return home for Senior Day on Tuesday against Xavier. After that, UNO will head to the Southland tournament where they will be the three seed. Their first round opponent is yet to be determined.

Nicolas Kramer has bounced around the rotation, playing in three different spots and the freshman is 7-7 in singles on the season. Kramer has played at the No. 3, 4, and 5 spot this season with his best winning percentage coming at No. 3 (3-1). Kramer also has a winning record (4-3) at No. 5 singles on the year.

Abilene Christian heads in winners of five of their last seven matches. The Wildcats finished off a 5-2 win over Midwestern State in their last outing on Wednesday. Their longest winning streak of the season was seven matches, a streak that started on Jan. 22.

Josh Sheehy has posted 16 wins, all at the No. 1 position in singles for the Wildcats. Hunter Holman also has 16 victories and Paul Domanski has a 13-5 record between four different spots in the rotation. In doubles, Domanski and Jason Proctor are 3-1 in conference while Sheehy and Sebastian Langdon have a 4-1 conference mark.
