NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The University of New Orleans men's tennis team (8-9) was eliminated from the Southland Tournament on Saturday morning with a 4-0 loss to the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders (16-8) on the campus of Stephen F. Austin.

The Islanders started the day with a doubles victory at No. 3 by at 6-3 score. The first point was clinched when Guillaume Rauseo and Paul Cook took down the match at No. 2 doubles by a 6-4 count. No. 1 doubles went unfinished with the Islanders leading 5-4.

In singles, the Islanders were too much starting at No. 6 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Rauseo picked up his second victory of the day in No. 4 singles, winning in straight sets. The match was officially sealed when Ricardo Mayagoitia won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.

Jeffrey Hsu led in singles when the match was concluded. Hsu was up a set, after topping Kevin Bettendroffer in a tiebreak in the first set. Bettendroffer was ahead 4-3 in the second set when the match was called.
